Why a chartered accountant?

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) is one of the oldest and most highly regarded accountancy bodies in the world, applying strict standards and codes of practice to its members. Anyone can call themselves an accountant but many are unregulated with no monitoring of the standards and expertise being required.

Ian Thompson is a Fellow of the ICAEW, a status intended to designate those who have achieved a higher level of professional experience. It is awarded to those members who have attained at least ten years of membership and who have complied with the Institute’s requirements on continuing professional development.
